Molecular design researchers win poster prizes
Two members of the Department of Chemistry's molecular design and catalysis research cluster have been awarded poster prizes at conferences.
Dave Ashworth, a PhD student in Dr Jona Foster's group, won a Royal Society of Chemistry/NewChem Technologies prize for his poster, 'Design and applications of paddlewheel-based metal-organic nanosheets' at the 9th Chemical Nanoscience Symposium in Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Dr Tom Roseveare, a postdoctoral research associate in Professor Lee Brammer's group, won his prize at the British Crystallographic Association Spring Meeting in Nottingham, where Prof Brammer gave a keynote speech.
Tom's poster was titled: 'Exploring the dynamic gas adsorption behaviour of a family of coordination polymers through in situ diffraction techniques.'
