Weronika commented on her win:

I am very grateful for getting so much credit through this award! It has been a few days since the finals, however, I still cannot quite conceive that I was chosen among so many outstanding students in the UK! I will repeat again, very well done to all incredible finalists. I would love to keep in contact with all of them for the bright future of UK Construction.  This award is surly for everyone who allowed me to get involved in projects, go above and beyond my course duties.

I am truly thankful for all kind, supportive, helpful people around me. Thank my family who let me pursue my dreams and goals, my lovely friends who are fine with me being hectic busy sometimes!

Thank everyone who I had a pleasure to cooperate with during my: internships with Curtins, Bouygues, work experiences with McAleer Rushe, International Engineering Ambassadors, Civil Engineering Ambassadors at the UofS, research experience with the UofS Civil Engineering Department, volunteering with STEM Ambassadors,  iForge-student-led maker space at the UofS seminars, debates and events with IStructe, ICE.

I truly love my degree, learning and the extracurricular experience I am getting at the University of Sheffield. Thank all of you involved in this competition, Laing O'Rourke and interviewers, Jaime Raggett, Tony Pike for believing in me.  It has been a long journey but definitively worth it!

Last but not least huge thank you to all tutors I had a pleasure to learn from! Especially to Jon Carr, Paul Hulbert, Richard Harpin, Sam Clarke, Rachel Horn for organising insightful site visits,  supporting me in organising 3D Printing Competitions, being my personal tutor and very importantly for always be there with guidance and answer to my many questions."
