Modelling size-dependent electro-magneto-mechanical coupling

With our partner institution, the University of Science and Technology Beijing, we investigate microstructural models for coupled physics - here, piezomagnetic and piezoelectric models.

Of particular interest is size-dependent behaviour of structural components, so as to be able to extrapolate the behaviour of tested specimens to real-life dimensions. To do so, we expand multiscale and nonlocal modelling approaches from mechanics to piezomagnetics and piezoelectrics, and from statics to dynamics.
