DETECT-CRC intervention begins

DETECT-CRC, a feasibility study looking to improve early detection of bowel cancer in less affluent areas of South Yorkshire, began delivering its intervention in early January 2025. They opened 12 sites across the county, and are hoping to open more in the coming months. The sites are set to be open for 1 year before the trial moves on to the analysis stage.

First participant for EXPERTS-ALS

EXPERTS-ALS, a trial looking to accelerate progress towards highly-effective drug therapies for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, the most common form of Motor Neurone Disease, MND), are excited to announce that they randomised their first participant in December of 2024.

Being headed by researchers at both the University of Sheffield and the University of Oxford, EXPERTS-ALS involves 11 MND centres around the UK and is a flagship study within the broader portfolio of the UK MND Research Institute.
