Employees of Sheffield University will normally have their fees met by the University and their Department (on a 50/50 basis).

Registration Information

50% department or self-funded; 50% University funded Home fee You will be contacted by the Registration team when you are due to register.

Register online and choose ‘Request Temporary Registration’ – this will give you temporary registration status. Once all your fees are in place you will be given Fully Registered status.

It is important that your department makes payments promptly to avoid your registration being withdrawn.

Visiting staff at University of Sheffield for more than 3 months – not employed by University*

External Student with Home/EU fees status 100% self-funded or external sponsor contribution

Home fee You will be contacted by the Registration team when you are due to register.

Register online. Self funding candidates will be asked for payment.

If you are fully self-funded you will be given Full Registered status. If not you will be given temporary registration status until all payments are in place.

If your employer is funding the programme you will be required to provide a letter in advance of online registration if at all possible (on company/organisation letterhead) giving the following information:

  • Name of person to be funded
  • How many modules to be funded and the total fee amount you are contributing (or state if full programme to be funded)
  • Address for invoicing purposes

You will be advised to upload a copy of the sponsor letter when you complete the pre-registration tasks, in advance of registering; alternatively, you can email/scan a copy to MEdTLHE@sheffield.ac.uk

External Student with Overseas fees status 100% self-funded or external sponsor contribution Overseas fee

If you are a University of Sheffield member of staff or a visiting member of staff and you leave the university, you will become responsible for 100% of your fees. If you have an overseas status you may become eligible for higher overseas fees.

Please note that although you will have a staff computer account you will still be required to obtain a student account. All general email contact will be made via your student account. Access to MOLE will be via this account.

*Staff on University of Sheffield honorary contracts can apply to take the course but staff on conventional contracts will be given first priority.

IMPORTANT

Period A (first year of study) – fees due for 90 credits
Period B (second year of study) – fees due for 90 credits
Period C (third year of study) – dissertation writing up period – no fees due

If your department is funding 50% of your course fees, it will be your responsibility to ensure that this is dealt with promptly. The 50% University funding will be dealt with by Student Fees.
