We are delighted to announce two scholarships of £10,000 each towards tuition fees for taught MA students specialising in French and Francophone Studies in the School of Languages and Cultures at University of Sheffield in 2024-2025.

These scholarships have been generously funded by a legacy from the late Dr Marjorie Shaw who was a lecturer in French at Sheffield for over 30 years.

The closing date for applications is Monday 15 July 2024.

All students (full-time, part-time, UK, EU, overseas) are eligible to apply. Scholarships are not renewable beyond the end of academic year 2024-25.

Successful part-time students will receive their £10,000 scholarship over two years of study.

In order to be eligible for a Marjorie Shaw scholarship, applicants must have applied for a place on one of the taught MA programmes in the School of Languages and Cultures by Monday 15 July 2024.

Further information on how to apply

In addition, applicants must write to Dr David McCallam by Monday 15 July 2024 to indicate their wish to be considered for the scholarship.

They should also indicate what topics or critical fields might interest them for their dissertation; and how their research interests fit with the specialisms offered in French and Francophone Studies at the University of Sheffield.
