Your Online Hub
The University uses an online portal called Blackboard where we have created a ‘Hub’ for you to access School and University information that you will need to begin and continue your studies in Sheffield. You will be able to access the portal when you receive your University log-in as part of your Registration tasks.
You can access the Blackboard site directly via the above link once you have a University username and password. You can also access it from the University’s homepage using these instructions and locating the ‘Organisation’ section on the left-hand menu to locate the Hubs.
Optional Module Choice
On the subject of optional modules - You will be asked to select your modules as part of the online Registration process. Information on your module choices is available via the ‘Add/Drop and Module Choice’ tab. Here you will find our Module Handbook, which will tell you about the modules that are available on your degree programme.
If you would like to know more about any of the modules, you can consult the Directory of Modules.
Please do take your time to make informed choices. You can also make use of our optional online drop-in Module and Registration Q&A session to ask staff questions about your choices. Furthermore, you can add and drop your optional modules up until the end of Teaching Week 2, so you have plenty of time to change your mind!
Course Timetable
We understand that many of you are keen to know when and where you need to be for your lectures and seminars once the teaching year starts. Your online timetable will become available from Monday 9th September.
Please be aware that your online timetable is a ‘live’ application, and therefore locations and modules may not immediately be available while your registration is being processed and the timetable is being finalised.
We appreciate your patience whilst the timetables are finalised. If your timetable is still missing information, please contact us during Intro Week and we will help to rectify it.
We will explain all about how your timetable works during Intro Week so don’t worry if you are not sure about it.
