The research undertaken by TUOS, Sheffield Hallam University and 11 autistic adults working as experts by experience for the named project is nearly complete. It has been a wonderful, exciting, challenging and joyous experience. We wanted to share with you all one of the outcomes of our research together: an animated video exploring what it is like to be autistic as an adult and what it was like receiving a diagnosis or identification as autistic.
The research team comprised 13 people: Dr. Luke Beardon (Sheffield Hallam University), Dr. Harriet Cameron (The University of Sheffield) and 11 co-researcher experts-by-experience including Helen Jones, Dream, Steve Wilks, Michelle Hughes, and Sarah Chierico.
The animation is voiced by autistic adults, and produced by Sort Of Films https://www.sortoffilms.co.uk/

We have some other events coming up where we will present our work and animation, and we will update on these in the near future!
