Miss Kerri Yi Ping Heng

Kerri is a Research Assistant working with Associate Professor Wong Meng Ee at the National Institute of Education, under the Disability Matters project. A person with disabilities and disability researcher herself, she is always passionate about disability research, especially in terms of identity, education, healthcare, and employment. She graduated with a Master's degree in Sociology from Nanyang Technological University, and her research thesis examined sensory disabilities, identities, and employment experiences in Singapore. At the Bachelor's level, her honours thesis investigated the social barriers faced by university students with hearing loss in Singapore. In the medium-term future, Kerri hopes to pursue a PhD (she's currently busy with work and still researching doctoral programmes!).
