My name is Xinyu (Joseph) Jia. I am now a PhD student in the Information School, University of Sheffield. Before starting my PhD study, I got my Bachelor of Internet of Things Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China.

With a background in computer science, I proceeded to the Information School in 2022 where I completed a Master of Science degree in Information Management. During my master’s study, I gained an interest in information behavior research, enabling me to stay in the Information School for my PhD study.

Title: “The Academic Journey Abroad: Modeling the Academic Information Seeking Behavior Transitions of International Students in the UK”

My research interest is in investigating the academic information seeking behavior transitions of international students when they study abroad. I am also interested in broad information behavior research.
