IJW Competitions

There will be 3 types of competitions in IJW 2021-2: Quiz, Debates and short video productions. Read on to find out more.

Prizes will be awarded to winners of the competitions. Prize winners will also receive certificates as evidence of their hard work and success. The competitions are open to only undergraduate and postgraduate taught students at the University of Sheffield.

Short video competition
Short video focus: produce a creative, didactic, and captivating short video (maximum 5 minutes) that relates to the theme of IJW2021-2, “Media freedom in the digital age”.
Expression of interest deadline: 15 October 2021

To express interest in the short video competition, please email a one- page synopsis of your video to Matt Robson email:m.robson@sheffield.ac.uk and copy Ilya Yablokov Email: i.yablokov@sheffield.ac.uk. They will let you know when and how to submit your video if yours is shortlisted for the competition.

Quiz Competitions
All student attendees can participate in the quiz. The quiz questions will be drawn from papers delivered during the first 4 days of the conference and any other questions selected by the coordinator of the quiz session.
