Spanish
With official status in 20 countries, Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the world. It is the major language in Latin America, alongside Portuguese, and is also an increasingly important language in the USA. Browse our Spanish modules below and find the right level for you.

Languages for All
Our Spanish modules are open to all students (for credits or not), members of staff, and members of the public.
Available on a semester basis (11-12 weeks), the modules aim to develop language competence and cultural knowledge for professional and recreational purposes through small group weekly classes and guided independent learning.
Degrees with Spanish
These modules are for undergraduate students undertaking a BA Modern Languages and Cultures degree with the school.
They are intended to build your proficiency in Spanish over the years up to a near-native speaker level, taking into account any previous experience of the language you may have, whilst supporting your study of Spanish culture in other modules.
Please visit the Spanish and Latin American Studies website for information on available degrees and culture-related modules.
