The Industrial Doctorate Centre (IDC) in Machining Science is a unique collaboration between the University of Sheffield’s AMRC and the Faculty of Engineering. It provides EngD and PhD training with a focus on machining science.

Our final Annual Student Conference will be held at the AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre on Thursday 18 May 2023. There will be a Keynote speaker to start the proceedings, followed by presentations by current and former students to showcase the work of the centre and tell the story of their careers post IDC.

Following lunch, a second Keynote speaker will open the afternoon with more presentations from students, concluding with a section on the impact of the centre by IDC Co-Director Professor David Curtis.

As part of the conference we will have an evening meal after the event has finished. Location (TBC)

We also have the Subtractive Machining Showcase at the AMRC KTC on Wednesday, May 17. Find out more here.
