CDP Spring Meeting 2019 comes to Sheffield
May 2019 will see a large number of high profile electronics companies descending on Sheffield for the Centre for Dielectrics and Piezoelectrics (CDP) Spring Meeting 2019.
Representatives from TDK, Kemet, Samsung, Morgan Advanced Materials and Philips, amongst others, will attend the two-day conference, where they will discuss recent developments in the field of electroceramics, including new methods for ceramics processing, capacitors and supercapacitors, energy storage, reliability, advanced characterization techniques, piezoelectrics, thin films and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems.
It is an honour for the University to host the meeting, as it is the first time it has been held in Europe. The University’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering is the first CDP Affiliate Partner from outside the United States, and the European Hub for the Centre.
This means that the Department is ideally placed to build membership around Europe, engage with new companies and develop ongoing relationships.
Professor Ian Reaney, European Site Director for the CDP and Director of Innovation and Research in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, said, ‘It is a great opportunity for us to engage with so many companies in this field and share knowledge with them. Each have their own areas of speciality, but we can learn a lot from each other. I’m sure that the meeting will be fulfilling, and will lead to even greater things in the future.’
The meeting is limited to CDP industrial members, faculty currently affiliated with the centre, staff, and students, and is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending a meeting as a guest, please contact one of the Centre Directors to discuss. Registration of any non-member will be allowed only upon invitation from one of the CDP directors and signature of a non-disclosure agreement.
