Postdoctoral Research Associate presents at ERS Sheffield 2016

Dr Rebecca Boston presentingHeld on Wednesday 15th June, and sponsored by the Engineering Researcher Society, the ERS brings together researchers, engineers and scientists from across the University to showcase, and celebrate, the latest world leading engineering research being undertaken.

All Engineering at Sheffield research staff are invited to submit an abstract for an oral presentation and/or poster, as part of the symposium. A panel then assess the submissions against the Research Excellence Framework (REF) criteria for four-star papers and selects one poster and one presentation from each of the seven departments in the Faculty to be included in the symposium.

Dr Rebecca Boston, Postdoctoral Research Associate and Forthcoming Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow 2016-2021, was chosen to represent the Department at the recent Engineering Researchers Symposium. Her presentation was titled "Seaweed to superconductors: biotemplated nanowire growth in functional oxides."

I was really pleased to be chosen to represent Materials out of all the fantastic research which goes on in our department. The ERS Symposium itself was a great opportunity to meet fellow researchers in the wider Faculty, and see the Materials Department so well represented in the poster session.
