Congratulations to Abhishek Jain and Abirami Priyadarshini Babu, both awarded the India Postgraduate Merit Scholarship.

The University has been attracting high calibre international students for many years and is committed to rewarding applicants of exceptional promise. Abhishek Jain, studying MMet Advanced Metallurgy, and Abirami Priyadarshini Babu, studying MSc(Eng) Aerospace Materials, have been awarded the India Merit Scholarship in recognition of their high academic merit.

Attending the Scholarships awards ceremony on Wednesday 11 November, Abhishek and Abirami met with fellow winners and members of the International Office followed by a presentation of certificates by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Keith Burnett.

Both students are completing a one year postgraduate taught masters course in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

I applied for the scholarship for financial support and because of the competitiveness and honour that comes with it. In receiving the scholarship, I’ll not only be more secure financially but with such an honour from a world class institution, it will help in future career applications.
