Isobel Catt

MEng Mechanical Engineering student Isobel Catt spent her placement year at Eadon Consulting, a consulting company who work to solve challenging engineering problems.  Isobel worked alongside Eadon engineers to help develop their Diamond Wire Cutter which was then used by Sellafield to remotely cut an object.  Now that Isobel has returned to Sheffield, she is continuing to collaborate with the Company and is carrying out research into the Diamond Cutter as part of her final year project.  Explaining a little about what she will be doing, Isobel said “My project is very much a steppingstone into potentially taking this into a much larger commercial project so it can be used in the future for cutting different materials.”
