August 2021 - Update on student support for MLTC registered students during the Autumn Semester 2021/22

The MLTC will continue to support our students via our virtual reception during the forthcoming Autumn Semester. The wellbeing of both students and staff in our University community remains paramount and by continuing to operate a majority of our support services remotely, the MLTC Professional Services team can ensure that they continue to offer the highest quality of service to support student learning and experience, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all.

General enquiries

Should you have a general enquiry about your modules whilst on campus, you can visit our Faculty Reception which is based on the ground floor of Jessop West where colleagues will be pleased to assist you. Should you wish to contact the MLTC, please continue to use our dedicated email address in the first instance - mltc@sheffield.ac.uk. This facility is a delegated mailbox, accessible by the full Professional Services team, and contacting us this way will ensure that your enquiry is answered as quickly as possible. Alternatively, you are able to contact us by telephone on 0114 2226847 and leave a voicemail for the team, although messages will only be accessed once per day - please do try to use our delegated email inbox where possible.

The MLTC Professional Services team will be available in the Centre to address queries in person from commencement of the Week 1 of the Autumn Semester (27th September 2021) but in order to safely manage this activity due to the infrastructure of the Ella Armitage building, we would ask that you contact us in advance where possible (mltc@sheffield.ac.uk) so we can ensure that a team member is available and can diarise an appointment with you. The MLTC office will be staffed during the working week between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30.

Again, we would request that you use our delegated inbox facility for enquiries as much as possible. We will continue to review operational aspects of our virtual reception throughout the Autumn Semester and update our students accordingly with any relevant changes, should they occur. 

Please note that office hours with teaching colleagues will continue to operate as face to face activities; further information about these will be circulated in due course.
