The Rt Hon Lord Blunkett has issued a statement to support Action Mesothelioma Day on 7th July 2023.

This year for Action Mesothelioma Day,  'Go Blue for Meso' will see prominent landmarks across the UK lit up blue to put a spotlight on a disease that deserves more attention. In Sheffield, the University of Sheffield Concourse and Octagon Centre will be lit up, as well as with the iconic Crucible Theatre.

Researchers at the Mesothelioma UK Research Centre are supporting the day by speaking at events across the country:

  • Dr Stephanie Ejegi-Memeh is speaking at the Yorkshire and Humberside Asbestos Support Group event at Sheffield Cathedral (11-1pm)
  • Dr Bethany Taylor is speaking at the Readley (Asbestos and Mesothelioma Support Group) event at the The Grand Hotel, Seaburn, Sunderland, SR6 8DB (10:30–2:30pm)

We will be following the day on twitter @meso_sheffield using the hashtag #AMD2023.
