Following one of the most demanding years on record for the NHS, the HSJ Awards aim to shine a light on the outstanding efforts and achievements that NHS teams and their partners across the sector have delivered.

Amid stiff competition, Mesothelioma UK were presented the award for Military and Civilian Health Partnerships, for their work on 'Supporting our Armed Forces'. Part of this work was our Military Experiences of Mesothelioma (MiMES) project which aimed to explore the prevalence of mesothelioma among British armed forces veterans, to understand their experience and health/support needs, and to identify how health and legal professionals, and support agencies can best meet the needs of this group. We're delighted that our work has contributed to such a prestigious award for Mesothelioma UK.

A paper from the this study was recently published in the European Journal of Oncology Nursing and can be accessed here.
