Music Careers Event
Event details
Description
Five recent graduates of this department will share their experiences and advice on finding paid work in music and funded postgraduate study, and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
The event will be introduced and facilitated by Alison Clay of Careers Services and myself. It's intended for Music undergraduates and duals with Music at all levels, whether you are graduating this year or just starting your degree and thinking about where it might lead.
Our event follows on from the general Students' Union Careers Week next week (15-19 March), which also includes some events of musical interest such as a panel discussion featuring experts from the live music and event production industry (Thursday 18 March at 4-5pm) along with events on sectors such as charities/NGOs, creative industries and sustainability. To this, our event adds information more specifically tailored to students in this department and a chance to interact with some of our graduates who have successfully pursued careers in music.
It's no secret that work opportunities in music have been damaged by Covid, but the signs are that things will be picking up by the time you graduate and it's a good time to be finding out what your future options might be.
The event will be run on Blackboard Collaborate, and joining instructions will be provided nearer the time.
