Ioanna is currently an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Music. She has studied Music (BMus with integrated Master’s) in the University of Athens, and she holds MA and PhD degrees in Psychology of Music from the University of Sheffield, under the supervision of Prof Renee Timmers, that have explored the conditioning relationship between everyday music listening and Involuntary Musical Imagery (INMI).

Her most recent projects include a postdoctoral fellowship in Mapping Music for Wellbeing in Sheffield Project, working with Dr Nicola Pennill and Prof Renee Timmers, and a postdoctoral fellowship for the ‘Hacking the live earworm’ project, working with Dr Michelle Phillips at the Royal Northern College of Music, in Manchester.

She plays the piano, and she is a member of Music Mind Machine, Sheffield.
