Profile

Morven Bryce studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, with Eric Gruenberg and Russian pedagogue, Zakhar Bron. Whilst there her joy for Chamber Music was born and she won numerous prizes and awards with her String Quartet, The Medea Quartet.

Upon leaving the Academy, her Quartet won Bronze Medal at the Shostakovich International Quartet Competion,St Petersberg and were subsequently appointed Artists in Residence at the University of York. She later founded and led The Tippet Quartet, with whom she performed extensively, also broadcasting and recording for BBC.

Morven has appeared as Guest Concert Master for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and London Soloists' Chamber Orchestra.

Since her children were born, she relocated to the Peak District, where she co-founded Archordia Institute for Chamber Music (an Initiative providing Chamber Music Workshops and Concerts for young musicians within Derbyshire.)

She recently recorded and performed with Alchemy of Sound -an experimental free improvisation Violin and Cello Partnership.

In London, Morven records regularly at Abbey road studios for major Hollywood Block-buster films and has conducted Performance Workshops at the Royal Academy of Music.

I am passionate about sharing with the next generation of young musicians, the joy, inspiration and opportunities I myself have been so fortunate to receive. Morven Bryce ( PCP RAM)
