Overview

During your time at University, you may be required to provide evidence of your student status to various third parties, such as landlords, banks, or councils.

You can download these yourself using the Student Document Self-Serve, or request them from the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD).

Documents you can request

You can request several different types of documents, depending on what you need it for:

How to request documents

You can request documents through one of the following ways:

  1. Self Serve

If you’re a fully registered current student, the quickest way to get your document is by using the Student Document Self Serve (student login required).

This uses verified data directly from your student record.

  1. On request from SSiD

You can also visit SSiD on level 3 of the Students’ Union building and request a letter to be printed. This uses the same data as above.

Information for third parties

Students can request documents through one of the following ways:

  1. Self Serve

The majority of certificates to confirm student status are produced online, by the student, using the student self serve facility.

The information uses verified data directly from the University’s student record. The student is unable to add additional notes.

  2. On request

Students can visit SSiD on level 3 of the Students’ Union building and request a letter to be printed. This uses the same data from the University’s student record as above.

Verification of student documents

If you have any concerns about the validity of a document a student has provided you with, contact SSiD quoting the student registration number printed on the document.

Due to data protection laws, we will not be allowed to release any additional information that is not on the document to any third party without the student’s express consent.

If you require formal verification of a student’s details, you can request an Academic Verification document.
