Public transport

Make sure you check the coach and train timetables before you arrive, as public transport in the UK doesn’t run all night. You might need to arrange alternative transport if you’re arriving late at night or early in the morning.

Coach/bus

You can check coach timetables and ticket prices for the UK’s two main coach companies via the links below.

Coaches will arrive into Sheffield Travel Interchange, which is a few minutes’ walk from Sheffield train station. You can either get a taxi from the Interchange or the train station.

Taxi price to most University buildings and accommodation will cost less than £10.

Train

Train times and ticket costs for the various train companies in the UK can be found on the website below.

Sheffield train station is in the city centre, and you can get a tram, bus or taxi from there to your final destination.

Taxi

Taxis provide direct transportation to your end destination but will be more expensive than travelling by train or coach.

Most airports' websites will have information about taxi companies you can book. Make sure you confirm the fare when booking and before the start of your journey.

Taxi drivers outside of Sheffield will not know the local area, so ensure you have a postcode for your final destination and a University location map.
