Profile

Josh completed his BA at the University of Liverpool, where he developed an interest in German idealism, especially regarding metaphysics and epistemology. He also undertook his MRes at the University of Liverpool, developing in his thesis an interpretation of Hegel’s critique of Kant’s theoretical philosophy.

His current research at Sheffield continues to investigate the intersection of Kant and the post-Kantians in the field of cognition, aiming at developing an authentically Kantian account of intellectual intuition and tracing the evolution of post-Kantian thought. His principal research interests involve Kant, German Idealism, the history of philosophy, metaphysics, and epistemology.
