What did you enjoy most about your studies?

The small class size of my MSc felt very comfortable, almost family-like. During the lectures, we went into a lot of depth with all topics, which was really great. I got to ask all the questions that I wanted answers to.

How did your degree help you get your job?

From the technological point of view, it has allowed me to understand the PV products in great depth. The course also allow me to create a startup concept for my company Zenergy, which I have now brought to life.

I have founded a solar energy company in Slovakia doing project based design, installation and commissioning. I had the chance to become a licensed PV installer and get a lot of demand currently. Many customers ask me questions about the technology which I am more than comfortable talking about after my masters. On the side I also work as an analyst in a venture capital company focusing on the clean tech market, analysing carbon technology start-ups.

What kind of skills from your course are you using in your job?

PV design, battery optimization, solar energy yield forecasting, payback calculations, programming, analysis of business models, preparation of purchase orders - all of these things came quite naturally during the course and have helped me tremendously in my professional life.

What are you enjoying most about your job?

The fact that I am doing something worthwhile for the environment, something technically challenging and helping people at the same time. Helping with the adoption/ deployment of renewable energy is more important than ever.
