New documentary film on the politics of crime fiction in Latin America.

Philip Swanson, Hughes Professor of Spanish in SLC and specialist in Hispanic and Latin American literature and culture, has just returned from Athens, Greece, where he has been filming for a new documentary film on the politics of crime fiction in Latin America.

The film, for which Swanson is academic adviser, is directed by the renowned Greek film-maker and crime writer Andreas Apostolides and produced by Anemon Productions.

Entitled Latin Noir, the film is due to be released in summer 2020.
