I am currently a Senior Research Fellow in the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group within ScHARR. My work focuses on the design, development and adaptation of complex health economic models and their use to appraise key policy questions in the field of alcohol research. The majority of my research is based on the development of the Sheffield Alcohol Policy Model to incorporate new methodological developments, new data and to answer new policy questions, both in the UK and internationally.

I joined ScHARR in June 2011 after graduating with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Warwick and spending several years working in industry. I completed an MSc in Health Economics and Decision Modelling within the department in 2013 before taking up my current post.

  • Understanding the variation in effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of alcohol policies across different settings
  • Alcohol-related health inequalities and the equity implications of alternative policy options
  • Quantifying and understanding the physical availability of alcohol
