Social Sciences subjects are among the world’s best in global subject rankings

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 have ranked a number of Social Sciences departments among the world’s best, demonstrating the excellence within the Faculty.

Published today, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 ranks subject areas within the world’s top universities, with 51 disciplines covered as of 2022. We are delighted that the Information School has been ranked number one in the world for library and information management, retaining their position from 2021. In addition, our Architecture/Built Environment subject area and Geography have been ranked in the top 50 globally. 

Speaking about the Faculty’s results, Vice-President and Head of Faculty Professor Craig Watkins said:

“I am proud to see the success of our departments in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject. This is a reflection of our excellent teaching and research in these subject areas and it is rewarding to see this recognised in the rankings that they have achieved.”
