- Profile
-
Laura joined the Department of Sociological Studies as an ESRC Research Fellow in 2020, after completing her PhD at the University of Sheffield earlier in the year (thesis titled ‘Life After Death: Experiences of Sibling Bereavement Over the Life Course’). While studying for her doctorate, Laura taught across several modules in the Department for Sociological Studies and Sheffield Methods Institute as both convenor and seminar leader.
- Research interests
-
Laura’s research explores the complexities of relationships and identity within the context of sibling bereavement. She is particularly interested in people’s everyday lived experience of this as it changes over time. During the fellowship, Laura will build upon her PhD research by collaborating with bereavement charities and organisations. The purpose is to share the research findings, inform professional practices and further enhance understandings of sibling bereavement.
