MPlan course now triple accredited after receiving RICS accreditation
Our MPlan programme has now been fully accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This is in addition to our full Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) accreditation and our housing modules, which are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).
This allows our graduates to become a chartered surveyor without having to do any further courses. Once graduated, all MPlan students have to do is take the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), this route would not be available to graduates from non-accredited courses and institutions.
For those who do not wish to become chartered surveyors, this accreditation ensures that our students have a well-rounded knowledge of the entire planning sector, regardless of their chosen profession.
With the support of the RTPI, CIH and now RICS, we are in the unique position of having triple accreditation for our MPlan course. This triple accreditation status to our programme is important as it not only emphasises the quality of our programme but also recognises the wide application of skills and knowledge we teach our students in the planning sector.
We are internationally renowned as a globally leading centre of excellence in both teaching and research in planning and urban studies.
Shaped by our world-leading and internationally excellent research (REF 2014), our programmes are ranked among the best planning courses in the UK (The Guardian University Guide 2019).
Our dedicated employability team ensures that over 90% of our alumni are in graduate-level employment or further study six months after graduation (DLHE Survey 2016/2017).
