Description

How can we enable sustainable innovation in the UK housing supply? Join us for a discussion about the UK housing crisis.

The UK is deep within a housing crisis. This not only requires an imminent and significant increase in the number of houses that are generated, but also means that these must be affordable, act to mitigate climate change, and combat inequality. To achieve this, it is essential that we shift from ‘business as usual’ and adopt innovative approaches that are capable of providing the housing we need within the carrying capacity of our planet.

This 1 ½ hour session hosted by the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures (University of Sheffield) will explore pathways to integrating innovation within the housing sector. Presenters will speak on a series of case-study projects to exemplify real-world enablers that can, and are, being used to promote innovation in housing provision. Following this will be the opportunity to collaborate through a Q&A discussion on how we can enable sustainable innovation in the UK housing supply.
