Kitty completed a PhD in Computer Science at the University in 1999 and thoroughly enjoyed her university experience, "When I was doing my PhD I got a lot of support and help both from the academic and technical staff. I also got a lot of help from the staff at the university library. Without their help, I wouldn't be able to achieve my goal and finish my studies."

During her time at the University, Kitty witnessed one of her friends really struggle financially through her studies and this, along with the increase in student fees, gave her the impetus and motivation to give something back and help future students. She wanted the money to go towards student scholarships to help students achieve their very best whilst at the institution that she got so much from.

Kitty is now a Senior Business System Analyst for the Metropolitan Police, a keen runner, she is a member of ‘The Comets’, the Met Police running club. This was Kitty's 12th marathon and we’re delighted to say she ran it in 4 hours 42 minutes and raised £405. She’s pledged to run for the University again and would like to "inspire other alumni to get out and run and help raise funds for the University through Just Giving".
