In person appointments

All in person appointments are held in the level 3 of the Employability and Placements Hub in the Students’ Union (opposite Proper Pasty). Please check in with reception on arrival and take a seat. The adviser will greet you when they are ready to see you.

If you have uploaded documents to Career Connect in advance these will be downloaded and ready to view during the appointment time. The adviser will not have time to look at documents in advance. If you have a more up-to-date version of the document that you would like to be reviewed instead, please feel free to contact careers@sheffield.ac.uk with your appointment details and your documents will be forwarded to the relevant adviser.

For health and safety reasons, perspex screens are installed in the interview rooms, and hand sanitiser / wipes are available for use. We understand that some people will feel more comfortable wearing face coverings and that others will not want to, and we are respectful of personal choice in this matter.

Please try to arrive 5 minutes before the appointment start time. If you are late to your appointment, you will either have a shorter appointment or be asked to rebook.

Online/telephone appointments

The Careers Service is using ‘Google Meet’ and telephone calls to provide remote appointments. If you have an online appointment with an adviser they will send you an invite to a Google Meet session via the email address provided on Career Connect, typically on the morning of your appointment.

Please find a quiet place for your appointment where you will not be disturbed. If joining via Google Meet, please check your internet connection.

If the adviser is slightly delayed to your appointment, please wait. It is likely that they are finishing up the previous appointment and will be with you as soon as possible.
