For the two years of the course, we had to be on campus for a weekend twice each year. A wonderful experience, even though I had to travel from Abu Dhabi in the UAE to London and then to Sheffield. I am not complaining, I loved every minute of it.

My reason for doing this degree was my role as an administrator of a small centre in Abu Dhabi established for children with special needs. My reason for being at the centre was my son, Ali who has autism. Our little centre grew and flourished and we were lucky to have staff from different parts of the world, who were not only qualified but also loved their job.

When I left the centre, Ali and I relocated to the United States where he enrolled in high school. Another wonderful adventure all together. On coming back to the UAE in 2006, I discovered that my little centre had grown into a larger well established one. That news was wonderful.
