Ranmoor & Endcliffe
These two student residences running either side of Fulwood Road are actually one big community – Sheffield’s biggest in fact, with 4,500 undergraduates and postgraduates from all over the world calling it home.
Modern and self-contained, there’s plenty to do in Ranmoor & Endcliffe, with shops, a bar and an on-site fitness suite for when you want to stay local and focus on studying – plus friendly staff on hand whenever you need them. With all the greenery the place has almost a rural feel – even though you’re just a short walk from the city.
Your rent includes all utility bills (water, gas, electric), contents insurance, and you'll have access to the university's campus-wide WiFi across the residences, as well as Residence Life events and sports activities throughout the year.
All contracts are self-catered and either 42 or 51 weeks in length, with the majority of 51-week contracts reserved for Postgraduate students.

More than half of Sheffield is green space, and the area around Ranmoor & Endcliffe is one of the greenest – with big old houses, established gardens, parks and woodlands. Not to mention the surprises that wait among the twists and turns of Eccy Road and Broomhill.
If you live in University accommodation, this beautiful Victorian park is on your doorstep.
Magnificent, manicured grounds with a broad variety of plants and flowers.
Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Vale Rd
Ecclesall Road (or Eccy road) has tonnes of cute cafes, charity shops and restaurants, making it a top location for a wander or a date night. And, folded snugly away behind it is the equally offbeat Sharrow Vale.
A five-minute walk from Ranmoor & Endcliffe, Broomhill is an all-time favourite for students with its bars, shops, cafes and restaurants like Proove, said to have some of the best pizza in the city.
Peak District National Park
Sheffield overlaps the UK’s oldest national park, with a third of the city sitting inside the Peak District. A short bus ride and you’ll be surrounded by mountains, valleys and ancient villages.
You can walk to campus in around 25 minutes, and the city centre in about 35. Walking is also the best way to find and explore local parks and areas like Ecclesall Road, which is only 5 minutes away.
Secure cycle storage is available across the site and dedicated cycle paths and routes criss-cross the city, so commuting and exploring on two wheels is a pleasure.
By bus and tram
Buses to and from the city centre are roughly every ten minutes, with easy connections to trams and the railway network. Half an hour and you’ll be out in the Peaks. Single bus tickets for students are just £1.50.
The closest station to your accommodation is in the city, which will connect you to anywhere in the region and beyond – meaning you’re only around two hours from London, for example.
Parking permits are available for the Ranmoor & Endcliffe residences, these can be purchased once you've moved in - for more information visit www.sheffield.ac.uk/efm/parking/student-residences
