SIDshare team 'Run For Restless'
On Saturday 30th May, a group of 13 students represented SIDshare and Restless Development at the Student Colour Run Sheffield, and raised an amazing £592 to support Restless Development's youth focused international development projects around the world.
Advocacy is an important part of SIDshare's work, and after supporting Restless Development over recent years during their 'Live Below the Line' campaign, this year SIDshare members were prepared to take on a new challenge.
Restless Development's work focuses upon young people- establishing projects and programmes to give young people the skills, resources and opportunities to tackle main issues facing their communities and countries. These issues include tackling unemployment; supporting young people to stay in education; providing access to sexual health services; and to show young people what their rights are.
SIDshare's fundraising campaign to 'Run For Restless' was organised by the committee's Advocacy and Marketing Officer, Emily Rowley, who has written a blog about the event and her involvement with Restless Development over the past couple of years.
Well done to all who were involved!
