In her inaugural lecture, IGSD Fellow Professor Lauren Rea will consider the cultural connections across time, space and generations that have shaped her research. With a background in Cultural History and an interest in how popular culture impacts on ideas of nation and identity, Professor Rea works collaboratively with partners from the Creative Industries and across the educational and policy sectors for the advancement of gender equality in Latin America. The inaugural lecture also marks the launch of Children’s Culture and Citizenship in Argentina, 1919–2019: A History of Billiken Magazine, published by White Rose University Press.

5:30-7pm followed by a drinks reception. In person event - free to attend and open to all.
