Profile

Rosie Westerveld is a doctoral researcher at the University of Sheffield School of management. Her current focus is on international development and inter-organisational partnerships between civil society organisations from the Global North and the Global South – looking at theory, practice and policies that shape, influence and found global partnerships. By adopting an action-research approach, she aims to look at overarching questions spanning participation, power, equality and sustainability. Throughout her doctoral research, she will be collaborating closely with NGO partners located in Bristol and Nepal.

Having previously worked in the fields of education, gender and violence against children, Rosie has extensive experience working with CBOs, NGOs and academic institutions in Europe, Brazil, Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean. She is committed to investigating themes such as gender and equality, social justice and social movements, youth development and participation, activism and alternative pedagogies.
