I am really enjoying being able to tailor my modules to my interests Emily Bush BA History Emily partly chose Sheffield because she really liked the atmosphere at the open day and that everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Being able to debate and discuss ideas has helped deepen my understanding of subjects. Rebekah Gregg BA History Rebekah shares how she loves that Sheffield as a city is so friendly, with lots to do and access to great parks and the Peaks. I like the balance of city and country life, with how close the peaks are its very easy to get outside into nature Elizabeth Gerken BA History Elizabeth chose Sheffield because the course felt interesting and diverse, expanding beyond modern history. The modules have opened me up to new topics I haven't really considered before. Rebecca Pott BA History Taking part in extra-curricular activities have helped Rebecca further develop her skills and prepare for her future. History netball has been a great way to meet people on the history course. Aine Connell BA History Aine loves the flexibility of the course and how she can refine her areas of interest and gain insight into different approaches to history. I've met so many diverse and kind people via my work with the History Society Samuel Jones BA History The flexibility of our programme, range of extra-curricular activities, and familiar feel of the city show why Sheffield was the obvious choice for Samuel. I particularly enjoy the range of different topics covered in my degree. Katherine Hart BA History Katherine shares how the History Society has provided a great way to meet other history students and make friends on her course. I feel confident to share my opinions in a supportive space, which has definitely developed my confidence in my chosen subjects. Jenny Varlow BA History and Politics Dual student Jenny talks about how a wide range of module choices has allowed her to focus on her personal interests. Studying both history and politics is a particularly interesting combination Thomas Cather BA History and Politics Politics dualist Thomas reflects on studying two subjects and how skills such as analysis of the impacts and consequences of events through time are directly transferable.
