MSc International Health Management and Leadership
2018
Iliana studied for her MSc International Health Management and Leadership via distance learning and graduated in 2018.

I was focused on a medical career from an early age. After graduating from medical school in 2012, I volunteered as a doctor in a humanitarian non-governmental organisation. After that, I have been working as a resident doctor in the field of surgery in both Greece and Sweden, pursuing my goal of becoming a plastic surgeon.

The MSc International Health Management and Leadership corresponded to my ambitions perfectly. During my studies up until that time, I had learned to appreciate availability of resources as well as institutional and academic reputation and that is one of the main reasons that I pursued further education at the University of Sheffield.

The course has greatly improved me in my role as a doctor. I feel more confident, eager to inspire my colleagues and friends.

As of today, I am a doctor and this course was very relevant to my profession, especially when working at a bigger hospital. I wanted to extend my horizons within the medical and healthcare industry, but also to build a foundation to stand on in the future when I will hopefully find myself in more of a leading role. I want to be a person that give my colleagues guidance and security. I want to be a leader.

Every day I acquire new knowledge regarding the function of the healthcare industry. I love learning and I will never stop doing so.
