Mathematics 
– BSc, MMath and Placement Year

Our Mathematics courses cover a range of topics across pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and probability and statistics. Once you've developed your core mathematics skills, there are a wide range of modules for you to choose from.

The MMath courses are a year longer and include extended research training. You can also do a placement year and spend 12 months putting your mathematics knowledge into practice in the real world.

Our Mathematics and Statistics courses include compulsory training in a range of statistical techniques, using the latest professional tools and software. Specialist training covers medical statistics, Bayesian statistics, sampling and experimental design.

The MMath courses are a year longer and include extended research training. You can also do a placement year and spend 12 months in the world of work.

Spend your third year studying maths at a university in France, Germany, Austria or Spain, and take language modules so that you continue to learn language you studied before university.

On this course, you'll spend your third year studying mathematics at a university on the continent, or in the USA, Canada, Australia or other destinations teaching in English, eg, Singapore. Students studying in Europe can also take language modules.
