I teach on the Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and the School’s Gateway programme, which offers an introduction to medical education. At present I am leading on modifying Gateway to an online offering a more flexible and accessible learning experience.

From 2010 to 2017 I worked at the University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry, principally in the development of online courses, adding blended elements to face to face courses and teaching information skills. I also co-taught ‘Teach Online’, a teacher development course for staff in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health.

Prior to coming to University of Sheffield I taught English and Spanish in Further Education and also designed and delivered short teacher development courses for focusing on practical skills around lesson planning, student activity, group work, feedback and reflection.

I am currently working towards a Doctor of Education at the University of Sheffield School of Education looking into the experiences of students studying on programmes which use Blended Learning approaches, with a focus on whether these approaches engender greater quality of learning. This uses a multimodal case study approach.
