I obtained a degree in physics from Durham University in 2012, and a PhD in magnetic resonance imaging physics from the University of Sheffield in 2016. In 2017, I moved to Hokkaido University to undertake a post-doctoral research fellowship funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). I am currently undertaking a European Respiratory Society (ERS) Marie Curie post-doctoral research fellowship in the POLARIS group at the University of Sheffield, in collaboration with the Center for Pulmonary Imaging Research (CPIR) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Research interests

My research interests include the development and optimisation of MRI methods for hyperpolarised media and lung imaging.

Current Projects

• Feasibility of hyperpolarised 129Xe MRI of the lungs in the infant population

• Pulse sequence development for multi-nuclear (1H and 129Xe) structure-function MRI of the lungs

• Hyperpolarisation technology development for 129Xe gas and 13C compounds by parahydrogen-induced polarisation
