Philosophy Reading Weekend - 7-8 May
The 2016 Philosophy Department Reading Weekend is coming up. This year it will take place at YHA Eyam Hostel, in the Peak District, on 7-8 May.
Students (both UGs and PGs) and lecturers spend a couple of days together, talking philosophy, walking in the Peak District, drinking at the pub, and playing games.
The Philosophy bit
4 students (typically, 2 UGs and 2 PGs) present a paper, and then there is a discussion--all done in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. In a nutshell, it is a lot of fun, and a great way to socialize with other students and staff.
£40 for PGs and £30 for UGs--and this includes one night at the hostel, 3 meals, and transportation.
A mini-bus will leave from the Department on Saturday 7 May at 9:30 and will pick us at Eyam the day after around 16:00.
Places on the trip are limited, so if you want to come, be quick to register by emailing Kate Atkinson.
When you register, please also let us know any special dietary requirements you have.
See you in the peaks!
