Profile: I am a musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and PhD researcher at ScHARR. My association with ScHARR began in 2012 when I completed the NIHR masters in clinical research here. I forged links with Lab4Living at Sheffield Hallam University during my time as a MSc student at ScHARR undertaking a placement in their then User Centered Healthcare design team as part of CLAHRC SY. This is where my interest in working with design researchers and co-design to improve healthcare problems began. After completing my masters I continued on my clinical academic journey securing secondments initially within CLAHRC SY gaining skills in qualitative research analysis. I continued to develop my qualitative research skills working in the public health section of ScHARR for 10 months and then within the Translating Knowledge into Action theme of CLAHRC YH. It was here that I gained further experience of working collaboratively with design researchers, using creative methods and co-design within an applied health research and service improvement context.

I secured a University of Sheffield PhD scholarship in 2019 to explore the use of creative co-design as a knowledge mobilisation strategy within musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I continue to work clinically in the acute physiotherapy service at The Northern General Hospital.
