- Profile
-
I joined the University of Sheffield in September 2014 after 9 years at the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD), University of York. While at CRD I helped to develop and deliver a responsive evidence briefing service using systematic reviews and other synthesised evidence to address questions raised by NHS decision-makers. I am a co-applicant on a study to evaluate this type of service with clinical commissioning groups in North East England.
I am currently working on a rapid evidence synthesis programme commissioned by the National Institute for Health Research Services and Delivery Research (HS&DR) Programme.
- Research interests
-
My research interests are concerned with supporting the use of systematic reviews in evidence-informed decision-making, particularly around commissioning, organisation and delivery of health services. This includes methods for rapid review of primary research, overviews of systematic reviews and incorporation of evidence relevant to the implementation of service change alongside effectiveness and cost-effectiveness evidence.
Current projects:
- HS&DR evidence synthesis centre
- HS&DR - 12/5002/18: Effects of a demand-led knowledge translation service on the uptake and use of research evidence by NHS commissioners
