Profile

I joined the University of Sheffield in 2018 as a research fellow with the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group within ScHARR. My research is funded by the Society for the Study of Addiction Griffith Edwards Academic Fellowship scheme.

I hold a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Behavioural Science from the Radboud University, Nijmegen and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Liverpool. My PhD project investigated how visual attention to alcohol warning labels and advertising is associated with drinking behaviour and motivation to reduce drinking. Before joining ScHARR I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Liverpool, where I conducted research on the influence of the portion size of alcohol/food on drinking and eating behaviour and investigated weight stigma.

Research interests

My research interests are social and environmental influences on health behaviour (primarily alcohol consumption). I am also interested in weight stigma and its effects on health.
