Profile

I joined the School of Health and Related Research in March 2016. My role was split between two academic sections: as a Clerical Officer in Health Economics and Decision Science and as the School Receptionist.

I am currently working as a Trials Support Officer within the Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU), providing administrative support across a variety of medical research trials.

My career background is in the catering industry. I worked for nine years in London, first as a chef, and then providing administration support for a food manufacturer.

Current projects

I am a Trials Support Officer for the following trials:

  • The ORION Trial: RadiO fRequency ablatION for haemorrhoids (ORION). A Pragmatic multicentre patient-/assessor-blind parallel-group individual participant randomised (1:1 allocation) randomised controlled trial
  • StarMS Trial: Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation versus Alemtuzumab, Ocrelizumab, Ofatumumab or Cladribine in Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • The APT Project: Aphasia Partnership Training – helping families communicate better

Past projects

  • The PITSTOP Study: PILonidal sinus Treatment: STudying the OPtions
  • HighCALS: A programme to develop and evaluate a complex intervention to improve nutritional management for people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • ACUTE (Ambulance CPAP): Use, Treatment effect and Economics) feasibility study: A pilot randomised controlled trial of prehospital CPAP for acute respiratory failure.
  • Big CACTUS: A study to assess the clinical and cost-effectiveness of aphasia computer treatment versus usual stimulation or attention control long-term post-stroke (CACTUS)

I have a BA (Hons) degree in Music/Popular Music from the University of Liverpool.
